Sola Review

Storyline/plot:
Sola has a mysterious storyline which I find rather interesting. The story development was slow at the beginning, however, was able to catch my attention. The storyline became much clearer towards the end and the anime ends with a rather conclusive ending. One flaw in this story was that it was quite confusing at the beginning. An overall acceptable original storyline.
Character development:
Despite being a short series, Sola manages to give life to its characters. Each character was unique and served important roles to the main plot. Main characters such as Aono Morimiya, Matsuri Shihou, Yorito Morimiya were well described and portrayed. Side characters were also given ample time for them to show their personalities.
Graphics:
Character design was simple and nice. The different types of sky used was plentiful and at times provided the right setting. Battles were elaborated (I just love the battle between Aono and Matsuri) and filled with action.
Music/Songs :
The opening theme, “colorless wind” by Aira Yuki, and the ending theme, “mellow melody” by Ceui, were both good songs with the right mood for this anime. The background music was average.
Overall:
Sola is a good anime that provided enough drama, romance and supernatural stuffs. However, all these aspects of the anime was not fully developed. The pacing of the anime was a bit too slow though it gets really exciting from the mid-point onwards. I must say that i really enjoyed Sola and i believe it could have been a better series if more depth was added to the storyline.
