Shigofumi Review

The Story is basically a postal type worker who delivers letters from people who just passed away to the person of their choice. These are called “Shigofumi”. This letter can include anything really. My first thoughts were it was …going to be revolved around this “Postal Worker” called “Fumika” and someone else that is human. I was totally wrong. It just doesn’t focus on one story, it sets the scenes off by describing various happenings as you will. It all comes into one at the end, but I will not spoil. This “happenings” invole murders, abuse, bullying etc. It doesn’t really cut anything out either so your given the full treatment as if the animators respect everyone as an adult in cases.
Animation in “Shigofumi” in my opinion is great, outstanding if you will. It seems the way the characters suits their personalities perfectly. Thus arriving at characters.
The Main character in which most episodes revole around, or participate in is the postal worker “Mikawa Fumika”. Your first intuition when you first see her is that she is an “Emtionless character” who either experienced past troubles or was brought up like that. She also has a talking staff called “Kanaka”. Most characters in “Shigofumi” revole around her, and as you progress through the 12 episodes, you’ll see how some of them come into play.
Sound was amazing, just purely amazing in my opinion. I throughly listen to the soundtrack to this as it is pure enjoyment to my ears. Also the timing in the anime as each track is played, whether it’s a happy moment, sad moment, horrific moment etc.
My Enjoyment of this anime was just awesome. I couldn’t get enough of it. It has been one of those anime in which I’ll never forget, even re-watch if I have to. This is definitly an anime worth watching.
