completly crazy but sooooooooooooooo good
i can only say WATCH THIS ANIME !
If you like psychology based anime, here’s a good one. It has something you might want to think about which may happen in reality.
“Serial Experiments Lain” is a very artistic anime, both visually and acoustically. It’s rather slow-paced, especially in the beginning, but is worth watching, be it only for the artwork and the mood.
Its main theme is that of personalisation/depersonalisation (building the ego, i.e. the self). The straightest and most simple answer to the complex of questions relating to that theme is the orgasm. Noone who’s sexually satisfied will ever question their own existence. However, since there is no sex at all in this anime, the makers struggle along thirteen episodes, yet don’t manage to get it right (the climax of the whole story is a meeting with the god/father). Still, as it is done in such artistically brilliant fashion, it makes for worthwhile entertainment.
Among other things, this anime’s plot reflects commercial necessities. There are relatively few right answers, when compared to how countless many wrong questions there are. You can’t sell the same stuff over and over again. If you have to be different or want to avoid serving clichés, while remaining serious and conveying a message, you’re prone to ending up capitalising on wrong or absurd questions. The show must go on… ka?
7/10. Worthwhile.
