In the 1930’s EC, Europa is split from the Empire and the Federation, the two dominant military powers that divide the continent.The two powers struggled for ultimate supremacy, inevitably starting the Second Europan War (E.W.II) involving all of Europa.Gallia, a small independent nation situated between the two super powers now faces attacks from the Imperial Army.The Gallian Army is overmatched by the Imperial forces and must retreat quickly. But just when the nation was about to surrender its capital city, one squad leader’s unusual strategy defeats the Imperial Army.The name of that young lieutenant was Welkin Gunther and this is his story.

i have seen better animes but this one is still pretty far up on my list of favorite animes. definitely worth watching

I don’t get it. Why are they unable to make some semi-realistic anime, when it get to fighting scenes?
I’m at EP 14 now and they have to take over a mining town.
The mission briefing was ridiculous at best.
All they did was parting into teams and declare a target. No strategy, no nothing.
Of course this will work out, because you never need a strategy or certain tools for that. Just guns, thats it.

Then there is romance in the middle of a battlefield.
Burning steelcarcasses of destroyed tanks in the back, gunfights to the fronts and as Faldio covers Alice and they lay on the ground, all he says is: I wish I could be like that forever.
This is friggin amazing. Its so ridiculous, its amazing.

This are just the things, that destroys an anime for me.
The only good military anime I watched so far was Full Metal Panic.
And hell that shouldnt be hard to beat, but still… they haven’t.
