Plot Summary: At first glance, Nura Rikuo seems like nothing more than a normal middle-schooler. In actual fact, he is grandson of Nurarihyon, master of a youkai clan. Having only recently resolved the hostilities between the Nura Clan and the Shikoku Yokai, Rikuo finds no rest as an ancient enemy of the Nura Clan, Haguromo-Gitsune, resurfaces. After 400 years of inactivity, Haguromo-Gitsune suddenly sweeps through Kyoto with overwhelming power.

I can’t believe this anime isn’t getting higher reviews. This anime is one of the few good shounen still on-going. It’s pretty bad ass, and I recommend it to anyone who likes shounen; Fighting, supernatural powers, force of will, etc.

You might think it’s lame from the first ep of season 1, but let me assure you that that changes very fast. That little kid is the Heir of the Nura Clan, known for its Family Head always becoming the Lord of Pandemonium, the leader of the Night Parade of 1000 Demons. Normal kid, Rikuo wants a normal life, but in order to protect his human friends, his yokai family, and the world - He must accept his demon side and his place as the third Heir of the Nura Clan to become the next Lord of Pandemonium. And his demon form becomes his most common form before long, for those of you thinking the little kid is lame, but even his persona as a human evolves even throughout just the first anime. It really is a good show.

This is a very fast paced anime, no bull** flashbacks, there are some, but its very bearable - The main character seems almost repetitively to overcome any obstacle and appear more bad ass than anyone else, but it doesnt always stay that way, the hints of repetitiveness you see will quickly vanish and the story will simply continue. The story is good, the normal human friends of the main character are similar to most of the annoying friends protagonists tend to have, that always get in the way. Fortunately, they don’t always get in the way in this story. In fact, they fit in perfectly and add a great little comical aspect to the story.

Also, the animations are BEAUTIFUL. What I mean by that is.. go to piratebay.org and download the 720p version of season I, as you won’t find season II yet, but at least those streaming videos are of a much better quality…kinda.

No offense to lordgoth, or any other anime site, but trying to stream season one of nurarihyon is horrible, there’s hardly any videos hosted correctly on non-premium servers - and seriously takes away from the beauty of the animation - some of the subbed episodes even have like tiny white subs, which you can’t even see. Luckily I’ve learned a lot of Japanese :P

Anyways season II works streaming, and is very much worth watching.

And for poster 3, I really hope that its not that stupid human girl, I don’t even remember her name they keep her out of season II for so long. Yura is cool, but that’s not really awesome and would be lame as all hell.

Yuki Onaa… now yeah, that’s the one. Her mother loved his father, but they were never meant to be - however, She loves Rikuo, and he OBVIOUSLY cares about her very very much. Now all we have to do is hope that the author allows their relationship to grow, and not end with the kid version thinking she’s just a family-member-close-kind-of-friend.

Why, you ask? She’s the hottest one ofc. Also she’s the most bad ass. Also she is the most human, as she doesnt hold hatred for either Yokai or Humans, while Yura hates Yokai (all of them even though shes cooperating), and the human girl is just lame. Also, because Rikuo went to the capital to save Yura, it wasnt because he loved her - she went there on her own, he simply went to go help knowing the situation. HE has saved the human girl before, but the ONLY person he’s risked his life in crazy fights for is Yuki Onna. She is responsible for pushing him to new levels in strength too, like when he finally remembered his demon side, was to save Yuki Onna, and he did it in his human form in season one. Think about it. And deep down you know you want her too you little freaks!

I really hope there will be season 3, because I want to know more about Nura Rihan and his life … and romance with Wakana ( Rikuo’s mother) naturally :D

It would be rather better if Rikuo would be with another yokai rather than another human. Since his father and his father’s father already married a human. So, Tsurara(because there’s another Yuki-Onna from Tono) and Rikuo would be nice. BUT, Rikuo marrying an Onmyoji would be rather good as marrying another yokai.
Humans are too mainstream.

I love Yuki-Onna and Rikuo together.. I mean.. they look cute right.. and plus it’s time to have a descendant who is born from a 1/4 yokai and a full time yokai.. Nura blood might die if they keep up this stupid cycle of process.. YUKI ONNA ROCKS!.

And so true.. humans are too mainstream.. it’s all about yokai so don’t get too mixed-up.. I WANNA KNOW MORE ON RIHAN’S LIFE.. love Rihan.. funny just like Rikuo XD >.<
