The homepage for the just concluded Hakuouki samurai drama television series has formally announced that the series will return this fall in a second season. The historical bishonen adventure drama is based on Idea Factory’s romance adventure PS2 game Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan.

The homepage for the current Seikon no Qwaser television series has formally announced a “Seikon no Qwaser: Jyotei no Shouzou” (Qwaser of Stigmata: Portrait of the Empress) anime production. The new anime will obviously feature character Katja. The announcement doesn’t specify the length or format of the new production.

The homepage for next month’s Asobi ni Ikuyo! (Let’s Go Play!) television series has added a streaming trailer. The adaptation of writer Okina Kamino & illustrator Hoden Eizo’s light novels about a cat-girl alien on Earth will premiere on July 10.

Japan’s Oricon entertainment news service reports that and anime adaptation of Ko Amami and Aki Kuruwa’s fantasy romance boys-love manga series Gakuen Hakkenden is in development. The production will be at least the third anime adaptation of Kyokutei Bakin’s 1814-1842 106 volume Nanso Satomi Hakkenden novel series following the 1990 Hakkenden OVA series and 1999’s Shin Hakkenden sci-fi TV series. The Gakuen Hakkenden manga premiered last April.
The franchise will also get two stage play adaptations, the first next month, and the second to be performed in December.

Broadcaster Nagoya TV has formally announced the development of a third Battle Spirits television series. The card-battle anime premiered in 2008 with the 50 episode Battle Spirits: Shounen Toppa Bashin television series. The Battle Spirits: Shounen Gekiha Dan television series is currently airing.
