Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Shounen
Plot Summary: Baccano is Italian for noise, but Narita translates it as “stupid commotion.” Each of the stories in the series involves several unrelated plots intersecting and crossing each other as events spiral farther and farther out of control. Immortal alchemists, mafia operated speakeasies, and many other elements of pulp fiction mashed together for a world straight out of the movies.

Very nice artwork; some nice bits of jazz and funk; a well-written and captivating story; fascinating and consistent characters; and just the right touch of fantasy to keep the sci-fi fan happy without being intrusive.
7/10. Worthwhile!
I give it a 9/10. A really great Anime series~
Great series. Nothing boring. 9/10
Also great site TNX 10/10
Great series, reminds me a lot of Cowboy Bebop with it’s rich characters, style and choice of big band music. Even the opening theme song sounds a lot like TANK.
It was boring, classic highlander story,in the end only one can be!If it weren’t for the funny couple then this series would have been totally lame. 4/10
Baccano rates as one of my top 4 favorite anime. The characters are lovable (especially Miriallia and Isaac), and the artwork is unique but very well done. The unique, jazz infused presentation suits this anime well and adds to the 1930s feel.
Baccano does have its flaws though. There are so many stories going on at once, its hard to keep them separate. I think that Baccano would be more enjoyable if the stories were presented from one person’s perspective at a time. Nevertheless, Baccano is a very enjoyable and refreshing anime.
this is kind of like karin the unvampire anime.
I ended up watching the dub, even though I prefer the original japanese cast with subs over english I’d have to say the dub cast did a good job! I enjoyed the anime, and liked its theme. Defiantly a unique anime worth watching.
By the way LG, there are 16 episodes.
This anime was great! The way the plot was told is very different and it made it enjoyable to watch! Loved how it all came together at the end. Though I think if they wanted to they could make a second season. Either way great anime! :D
The DVD edition of this series sports an additional three episodes, bringing the total up to sixteen (the first thirteen episodes being the same).
Those three episodes attempt to tie up some of the countless loose ends left after the thirteenth. And maybe, in what would be a base commercial move, set the premises for a second season.
However, these three episodes are clearly an addition and do not fall in with the rest. Although they’re not really bad, in terms of quality they don’t even begin to compare with the rest of this delectable anime.
To anyone considering, as did I, whether or not to watch them, I would recommend not to.
I love this seriesss! I need to find the rest (there are 3 extra episodes, from what I understand, leaving the final number at 16). The characters are great and they are all soooo different, which makes watching each view a real treat. The show’s never boring, since it doesn’t follow a distinct timeline (something that’s pointed out in the first episode that it won’t). And the name refers to how hectic it can be. XD But I love it for all its craziness. Baccano IS Baccano! .>
