Plot Summary:
A mysterious warrior calling himself The Black Swordsman is out to get the King of a country called Midland. As he battles the king’s henchmen, their cries of pain and the spilling blood take this relentless warrior’s mind back in time to the path that led him to his current state.
Guts, a man who calls himself “The Black Swordsman” looks upon his days serving as a member of a group of mercenaries, the Band of the Hawk, nicknamed “the Grim Reaper of the Battlefield”. Leaded by an ambitious, ruthless, and intellegent man named Griffith, together they battle their way into the royal court, and are forced into a fate that may change their entire lives.
On just any day, a pack of hooligans are harassing a young lady in distress when all of a sudden, they’re under attack. The Black Swordsman has returned. He wields a giant sword as large as his grudge against the king. When alone in the woods, the Black Swordsman has a flash back to years past and his trials and tribulations in the Band of the Hawk, a successful band of mercenaries under the charismatic leadership of Griffith, a man driven by the ambition to become king.

The anime by itself is a bit different than the manga, ofc in the manga it explains a lot more things and it continues after the part the anime stops. The anime is great , it is 1 of the best anime i watched as well as NGE and GTO , when you finish the anime you will be thinking somewhere around these lines ” I … must… get … the … manga ” , seriously Gutts’s the man ! If ur into blood , action , fantasy , drama…believe me this anime will make ur blood boil ;D
It’s a great anime. I agree. The first episode didn’t do much for me though, only when they started to tell the story about the band of the hawk I really got drawn into it. The last episode is also a bit of a let down, but that’s more because of the lack of information you get about what will happen next, rather than the anime being poor.
Like has been said, it makes you curious about the manga. Unfortunately I don’t like reading manga as much as I enjoy viewing anime :P

To see this far and then it all stops, unexplained, and … i don’t now what to say…gaah!
It’s a shame that i have to read the manga to know the ending becuse usually as said, the manga explains more and usually don’t follow the anime quite the same wich means i have to read from book one -> .
To get the best of the story.
But they wroted on Wikipedia that he gives out about 2 volumes a year,
so in other words i might be able to see the anime ending version in about 4 years from now hopefully ^^

Super perfect. One of my favorites. But mybe could have a better ending. The series is finished, but now there exist new manga stories, so maybe second series will follow.
Berserk is by far the baddest anime of all time, who ever made it you are awesome but also a nigger of the highest. Why would you make a bad ass anime and not finish it?!?!?!? Shame on you! I hope you get hit in the head and have an epiphany to finish this anime!! Lets see here you have a 25 episode anime series and like what 200 + chapters in the Manga?!? That’s plum ridiculous!! But still very good anime. I would recommend it to every one!!!!
